Position Overview

The QA Auditor for Home Health is responsible for ensuring that home healthcare services meet high-quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting comprehensive audits, reviewing clinical documentation, monitoring compliance, and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives. The QA Auditor will work closely with clinical staff to provide training and support, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory guidelines. By identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions, the QA Auditor plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs task in QA Manager in Wellsky for each open Oasis
  • Reviews daily Open Oasis report
  • Scrub Oasis for omissions and discrepancies
  • Ensures all required goals to meet plan of care are included and have required interventions
  • Facilitates communication between coders and clinicians for Oasis compliance.
  • Communicates with HH Agency DON for further clinician education on an individual clinician basis and/or team basis for any documentation trends identified by the Quality Initiative and OASIS Specialist
  • Assists HH Agency DONs and Regional Clinical Nurses to develop education and training for clinical staff
  • Review medications for therapy-only patients
  • Assist DON in reviewing the medication list but DON responsible for the final review
  • With documented approval of DON, generates 485 orders to be sent to clinicians.
  • Ensures OASIS compliance is completed by the end of closing each month
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Regional Clinical Nurse

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, BSN
  • Current RN (Registered Nurse) license
  • Proficient in the English Language both written and verbal
  • Preferred OASIS Certification in Home Health
  • Three to five years of experience in health care/home care preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be solution-oriented, resilient, and persistent on all levels relating to business, social situations, and clinical challenges.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Therapy practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to Home Health.
  • Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
