Position Overview:
The Financial Analyst supports the organization by providing accurate financial analysis, reporting, and insights to guide decision-making. This role assists with monthly and quarterly reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and analysis of operating expenses and margins, while also evaluating revenue cycle performance across billing, collections, denials, and cash. The Financial Analyst collaborates with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Billing, Coding, and Operations teams to identify trends, investigate variances, and develop dashboards and reports that improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare and support monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including variance and trend analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Analyze operating expenses and margins to identify trends, risks, and anomalies
- Maintain accuracy and consistency of financial data across reports and systems
- Respond to recurring and ad hoc financial requests from Finance and operational leaders
Revenue Cycle Analytics
- Analyze revenue cycle performance across billing, collections, denials, and cash
- Track and report on key revenue cycle metrics, including Days in A/R, denial rates, payer mix, and collection performance
- Support payer- and service-line–level analysis to identify reimbursement trends and issues
- Partner with Revenue Cycle, Billing, Coding, and Operations teams to investigate variances and performance gaps
- Build, update, and maintain recurring dashboards and management reports
Job Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- 2+ years’ experience in financial analysis, analytics, or healthcare operations
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables) and comfort working with large datasets
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data and explain results clearly
- Experience managing multiple requests with competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in a healthcare provider, BPO, MSO, or healthcare services organization
- Familiarity with revenue cycle processes, payer concepts, and reimbursement fundamentals
- Experience with financial systems, EHRs, or revenue cycle platforms Exposure to BI or reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
- Ability to prioritize and execute across multiple recurring and ad hoc requests
- Comfort working with incomplete information in a fast-changing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently investigate data issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with finance partners and operational stakeholders
- Attention to detail and follow-through on deliverables
